Community Councils are voluntary organisations which operate in Scotland. They are set up by law by the Local Authority and each Community Council is run by local residents on behalf of its area. Community Councils play an important role in local democracy.
Community Councillors are people who care about their community and want to make it a better place to live. Joining the Community Council will allow you to put something back into our community. As well as representing the community to the local authority, Community Councils facilitate a wide range of activities which promote the well-being of their communities.
