Biggar Community Council operate four microgrant streams:
It normally takes 4 – 6 weeks to process a microgrant application. It may be possible to process applications more quickly, but this cannot be guaranteed. Please make sure that you apply well before you need the money as microgrants cannot be awarded for items that have been purchased before a decision is made.
Before applying, check the guidance to ensure that your application meets the eligibility criteria which vary slightly for each fund. If you are unsure, contact a BCC member. For contact details of BCC members, please click HERE.
Applications can be made to more than one fund, but the BCC Incentive fund is normally reserved for purposes which cannot be covered by the other funds. Organisations or individuals may not normally receive more than one award from each fund per year.
Biggar Community Council will not normally provide funding for the same purpose year after year. Projects which require long-term funding could apply for a larger grant from one of the main windfarm funds please see our Non-BCC Grants page. Similarly where larger amounts are required for projects benefiting a wider area applications should be to the main windfarm funds rather than making multiple applications to several Community Councils.
Biggar Community Council no longer operates COVID-specific microgrant funds. Funds previously allocated for COVID support and recovery have been reallocated to the funds below which can be used for a wide variety of purposes.
- The SSE Clyde Windfarm fund
- The Ventient Glenkerie Windfarm fund
- The SSE Clyde Extension fund
- The Biggar Community Council Incentive fund.
