- Stagecoach 101/2 Dumfries to Edinburgh. Approximately hourly service during the daytime Monday - Saturday. Reduced Sunday service.
- Stuarts 191/91 Biggar to Lanark via Symington and Thankerton. Hourly service seven days a week including evenings.
- Borders Buses 91 Biggar to Peebles. Approximately 2-hourly daytime service on weekdays. Reduced Saturday service. No Sunday service.

Demand Responsive Buses which only run when pre-booked

This service is available to everyone including people who are not resident in the area, but you need to register to use the service and pre-book journeys at least one day ahead (more notice may be needed to secure a booking at busier times).
The MyBus 800 services cannot run on routes which are served by a scheduled service even at times when that services does not operate (e.g Biggar to Lamington at 9am), but can start or finish from a location serviced by a scheduled service (e.g Walston to Biggar or Biggar to Carstairs station). This service does not follow a fixed route. You can specify your own start and end point and pick up/drop off times. The booking service will try to co-ordinate your needs with those of other people wanting to use the service, so you may need to be flexible about your exact travel times and route.
Bus passes are honoured on this service. MyBus Rural 800 covers most of the Biggar and Lanark area except for Leadhills, Crawford, Elvanfoot and the Daer and Camps areas which are deemed too rural for MyBus Rural! Phone 0141 333 4585 or 0845 128 4024 to book or register for the service (note that calls to the 0845 number are charged a 2p per minute plus access charge).
Crawford to Biggar Peak time dial-a-bus service. A free service provided by the Rural Development Trust http://www.ruraldevtrust.co.uk/ and funded by SPT. Operates Monday – Friday subject to demand, leaving Crawford / Abington at 07:30 and returning from Biggar at 16:45. The service can call all stops along the 101/2 route. Pre-booking at least one day ahead is required. Phone 0345 123 5047 to book a journey. It is planned to expand this service from July 2019.
Penicuik - Garvald Rd end late evening taxi-bus service. A trial late-evening service organised by West Linton Community Council in association with Scottish Borders Council. Picks up at the bus stop at Lidl, Penicuik at 22:15 and 23:15 to coincide with the arrival of the X62 bus from Edinburgh bus station. The taxi-bus costs £2.40 and fares will increase in line with bus fares. Bus passes are not valid on this service. Users must registered (free) by providing your name and address to wlcctaxi@gmail.com which will allow a membership card to be issued. This must be shown to the driver. Registered users will be given the phone number of the taxi company to book journeys. Only those who have telephoned the taxi company and provided their membership number will be guaranteed a seat, others may travel if there is space. Drop-off is at bus stops along the A702 between Carlops and Loanend, Dolphinton.

Caledonian Sleeper from Carstairs to London Euston
Daily service except Saturdays. (Check times carefully as the "Monday night" sleeper may leave in the wee small hours of Tuesday morning which can get confusing!) If catching this service don't panic when the train initially goes straight through the station. It's supposed to do that!
