Reply to Robin, Deborah, Lochside, Kirkmahoe, Auldgirth, Alistair, Penpont, Emma, Thornhill, Gordon, Kenny, Angus, Anthony, Kirkpatrick, Moffat, Leadhills, Crawford, Gordon, Quothquan, Symington, me, Tweedsmuirsecretary, Upper, Skirling, Blackmount, Newlands, West, Carlops, Penicuik, Damhead, Fairmilehead, Carol, Merchiston Hi all 33 Community Councils, from Dumfries to Edinburgh, People and communities, from Dumfries to Edinburgh and everywhere in between, are looking forward to the arrival on 1stApril of Houston's Coaches, the new operator of the 101/2 bus service. As the service gets handed over from Stagecoach to Houston’s, Stand Up for our Buses have been heartened to see a continuing constructive and 'can do' attitude to the provision of this lifeline service, Crucially, we have been impressed by how keen Houson's are to communicate and engage with communities along the route. There will, no doubt, be 'bumps in the road' as the new service beds in, but we are hopeful that the early signs of a positive and meaningful relationship evolving between Houston's and communities, will help provide the basis for increased patronage, long-term security for the service and hopefully, in the fullness of time, some service improvements along the way. In the meantime, we'd be really grateful if you could share the following information from Houston's, with your own communities, as best you can. Houston's are all excited to be taking over the 101 / 102 service. We are a small company and things may have been very quiet on our website and social media. We are working extremely hard behind the scenes to ensure a smooth transition of the 101/102. We appreciate that users of the named service are keen to know more about us:
We look forward to transporting you all on the 101 & 102 routes starting 1st April 2023.
