Meeting of Biggar Community Council 15 April 2024 Venue: Biggar Library. Matters arising from the minutes of 18/ 3/24 Phillip Kenny should read Phillip Kearney Biggar Public Park/ Caravan Park/ Golf Course No additional news Replies To Letters Sent Out No reply from the medical practitioner or from STP. The Secretary Y will draft a hard copy letter for the Chairperson to deliver. Adoption of Minutes of Previous Meeting (18/03/24). Approved. Proposed by Fiona Miskelly, and seconded by Laura Shirley. Adopted
Community Council-Police Report 15/04/2024 Police update – 16/03/24 – 15/04/2024 29 incidents were recorded for Biggar during this period. For comparison, in the same timeperiod 218 calls were received for Lanark and 240 for Carluke. 7 crime reports were raised – these were in relation to Assault x 3, Threatening Behaviour x 1, Theft x 1. Breach of bail x 1 and Vandalism x 1 From my analysis of incidents and crime reports there is nothing to indicate any specific trends that should cause any concerns to the local community. Please report any incidents to police by either phoning 101 or using the online reporting tool on the Police Scotland website. 8.1 Story Homes unused land – consideration being given to adding this land to adjoining houses. The Chair to follow up with Story Homes.
8.3 Pettinain Bridge due to be opened at the end of the month – opened 22 April
