Biggar Community Council is seeking new members to fill several vacancies, and encourage anyone who is interested in making Biggar the best it can be to apply.
The Community Council works with, and for, the people of Biggar supporting and listening to them as individuals, groups and organisations. It is the main communication link between the town, the Council and other bodies including utilities, services and other national bodies. Biggar Community Council is also in the process of developing a local action plan which will provide evidence of what people in the town would like to see happening over the next few years. The Community Council aims to reflect the sometimes varying opinions of the town. Anyone who lives in Biggar is eligible to join. You just need to care about Biggar and have a few hours a month to spare. People between 16 and 50 are currently under-represented on BCC and applications from this age group would be particularly welcome. As well as full membership, there is the opportunity to get involved as an associate member covering a particular group or issue. Anyone interested in finding out more should contact [email protected]. Or for an application form, contact [email protected] or phone 0303 123 1015. The closing date for applications is 26th February
