Biggar Community Council is holding a drop-in consultation event at the Gillespie Centre on:
Saturday 22nd June, between 10 am and 3 pm. This short consultation will focus on two topics: Health and Social Care and Public Transport, although there will also be the opportunity to raise other issues with Community Councillors who will be available on the day. The Health and Social Care part of the consultation is being carried out in conjunction with Biggar Wee Oasis, a group set up to look at possible uses for the Bield Day Care Building. The consultation will be about all aspects of health and social care provision locally, not just those affecting older people. It is in response to South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnership carrying out a “scoping” exercise in preparation for formulating their spending plans for the next three years. The Public Transport aspect is seeking views on what public and active transport provision people would like to see, and will allow the Community Council to feed into processes such as the Scottish Government's Scottish Transport Appraisal Guidance process. If you want better buses, need new stations or are craving cycle paths this is your chance to make your views known! Biggar Community Councillors will also be in attendance to discuss any other issues which you feel are of importance to the town. We hope to see you there.
