Meeting of Biggar Community Council 15 Jan 2024 Venue: Biggar Library. Time 7:00pm- 7:50pm Present: Jimmy Ritchie (Chair) Alan Wilson, Lesley Craise (Treasurer), Neil Ingram (Associate Member) Roger Curtis (Secretary). Councilor Allison, Councilor Barker Ex Officio: Ian McAllan (SLC), 3 members of the public were present, including 2 people who currently use the caravan site.
Matters arising from the minutes of 18 Dec2023 Biggar Public Park/ Caravan Park/ Golf Course The public consultation is due to start at the end of January, venue Municipal Hall. In the meantime the golf course will be maintained. Bonfire This went well Adoption of Minutes of Previous Meeting (20/11/ 23). Adopted but with the addition:

Police Report 13/01/2024 Police update – 19/12/2023 – 13/01/2024 32 incidents were recorded for Biggar during this period. For comparison, in the same time period 186 calls were received for Lanark and 188 for Carluke. 6 crime reports were raised – these were in relation to Assault, Threatening Behaviour x 2, Theft and Communications Act x 2 From my analysis of incidents and crime reports there is nothing to indicate any specific trends that should cause any concerns to the local community. Please report any incidents to police by either phoning 101 or using the online reporting tool on the Police Scotland website.
