Following a public meeting, Biggar Community Council carried out a survey to gather balanced opinions to understand and report the community's views about the proposal for the new development outlined below. The Community Council has now collated the results and passed them on to South Lanarkshire Council for consideration. On behalf of the Biggar Community, Biggar Community Council registered its objection to the outline planning application for the proposed development. The Conclusion of the Report reads: "The majority of the representations were in opposition to the development proposal with a minority in favour. The primary concerns being Infrastructure capacity (Schools, Doctors etc), Highway issues (volumes and safety) and increased risk of flooding. The BCC urges South Lanarkshire Council Planning Department to take into account all of the concerns raised by Biggar residents who have responded to this survey. On behalf of the Biggar Community, BCC objects to this planning proposal." The full report of the survey results can be found HERE
